Exams and Certificates
IfS issues its own certificates, carries out officially recognised tests and also prepares students for external examinations, primarily those at German universities.
IfS Certificates
IfS certificates are recognised as proof of the number of hours of German instruction attended when you apply to study at a university in Germany.
The IfS certificate states the course attended, its duration, the number of teaching hours, the language level attained and performance in the test. The individual language skills – reading, listening, writing and speaking – are listed separately.
IfS tests
IfS tests are aligned with the guidelines of the European Framework of Reference. They serve to confirm your progress in the areas of competence „listening comprehension“, „reading comprehension“, „written expression“ and „oral expression“.
For every course there is a midterm exam (after 100 teaching units) and a final exam (after 200 TU). Participation in the tests is at no additional cost for participants.
The IfS test centre for telc and TestDaF
IfS is a licensed testing centre for The European Language Certificates (telc) and for TestDaF. We offer focused training for the tests and conduct the examinations for the Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD / telc B1) and TestDaF at regular intervals.
Furthermore, IfS offers special preparation courses for the DSH examination and entrance exams for universities. These test are not written at IfS but at the respective university.
All of our participants are individually advised by their teachers and are given personal recommendations regarding the sitting of examinations.
