Info about Studying

TestDaF and DSH

Studying in Germany naturally requires the ability to communicate in German.

German universities usually require documentary proof of your German language proficiency in the form of either a TestDaF or DSH certificate at an advanced level (C1).

The only exceptions are the so-called „international courses of study“ in which English is the exclusive medium of instruction. However, here too, it is very useful to be able to speak German to be able to communicate in your everyday life here in Germany.

IfS offers specialised preparatory courses for various test formats, such as for TestDaF, DSH and also for the entrance exams to study colleges („Studienkollegen“).

See descriptions of the individual test formats > here.
