Guesthouse"Die Ruthen" in Felsberg



Welcome to the heart of Germany! To help you settle in, come and stay in our very own guesthouse. It is located in Felsberg, a small town dating back to the Middle Ages and situated about 25 km south of Kassel.

Here we offer our incoming students somewhere to stay when they arrive in Germany until they have found somewhere else to live. Naturally, students are welcome to stay at the guesthouse for a longer period of time if they wish.

The town of Felsberg offers you a comprehensive range of shops and leisure time facilities. There are several supermarkets, baker’s shops, chemists, drugstores, electrical goods shops, a combined bookshop and photographer’s, two sub-post offices, banks and much more besides.

On the leisure side, Felsberg has two internet cafés, an ice-cream parlour and a choice of pubs and restaurants. As well as sports facilities, the open-air swimmimg pool – only 500m from the guesthouse – is open in summer. Nature lovers have plenty of scope for walking, rambling or cycling.

The guesthouse features:

• accommodation for 10 guests in fully furnished rooms (single or double);
• a large communal kitchen, fully equipped with dishes, pots, flatware, etc.);
• separate showers with WCs on each floor;
• a washing machine (there is a small charge for using this)

Prices for IfS students:

Heating, electricity, and water are included in the price.

Travelling from Felsberg to Kassel by train is is easy and affordable. The train station is 10-15 minutes walk from the guesthouse, and the trip to Kassel lasts only 30 minutes. The tickets are also valid in Kassel for the "Straßenbahn" (tram) and buses. The IfS student ID card entitles you to a fare discount.
